Low frequency ultrasound has been reported to increase the skin penetration of substances up to 1,000 times that obtainable with therapeutic ultrasound. Numerous beneficial effects of L-ascorbic acid and retinol on the process and results of photoageing have been described. Low frequency sonophoresis of L-ascorbic acid and retinol is a quick and simple noninvasive process with no “down”time.
